vim
set filetype=markdown
set syntax=markdown

Modeline ​

Add the following to the beginning or end of a file, as a comment.

vim
vim: filetype=neomuttrc

Synchronize ​

If syntax highlight is broken, run:

vim
syntax sync fromstart
